Sit Back

Did you know you can just sit back and be evangelized? These days all one has to do is turn on Catholic television, radio or the internet. The ability to evangelize others is more far reaching and accessible than ever before in human history.

Sit Back, Watch and Listen

There are many wonderful options to sit back, watch or listen to, today, to grow in the faith. Some are exceptional. One of them is The Eternal Word Television Network, known as EWTN, or its counterpart, EWTN Radio. EWTN in both formats has terrific 24/7 programming. From live shows, question-and-answer series, and programming for men, women and children, EWTN has something for everyone. Launched by Mother Angelica, a Poor Clare nun in 1981, EWTN is the largest religious media network in the world. The network is unabashedly Catholic and loyal to the Magisterium, so one can be confident with its content. EWTN also has an online Religious Catalogue—a huge Catholic shop where you can find items for any Catholic need or occasion. The EWTN website, too, has daily readings, devotionals, a library, etc. One can also download the EWTN app to listen to programming anytime via phone or computer.

Satellite

EWTN is also on satellite radio on SiriusXM channel 130. There is another Catholic SiriusXM channel, as well—unaffiliated with EWTN—called the The Catholic Channel on channel 129. The Catholic Channel focuses on Catholicism lived in today’s world and is yet another source to help one be continually evangelized.

Internet

Websites, magazines, blogs, etc. on the internet can be good sources, too, for learning about Catholicism. Sit back and watch or listen to Catholic Answers, for instance—a great source for Catholic education. Catholic Answers broadcasts a two-hour daily radio program, as well, called Catholic Answers Live. This radio program is specifically dedicated to apologetics and evangelization. If you like to sit back and read the newspaper, instead, the National Catholic Register is an excellent newsprint source. A service of EWTN News, the NCR looks at how current news of the day impacts Catholics.

His Gift to You

Whatever your preference, in terms of Catholic news, information and evangelization, take time to sit back and profit from resources available. Tune into these channels or sites if only for 5-10 minutes a day. Avail yourself to God in these moments. See what He has to say to you. Sometimes you will receive just what you need to hear that day. Let Him come and mentor you in His love—especially during this Christmas season.
